Bix Sigurðsson has learned through experimentation. At the tender age of 13 he began exploring electronic music in his bedroom in Iceland. At the time he was working with 8-bit Russian samplers and an Amiga computer sporting 512k of RAM. Sixteen dabbling years later, he has produced, written and remixed music for world renowned artists such as GusGus, Daníel Águst, Beck, Sigur Rós, Madonna, MúM, Charlotte Martin and Hairdoctor. He is currently working on his solo debut album.
Bix’s commercial work includes BMW, Mercedes Benz, X-Box, Verizon, ESPN and Earthlink as well as numerous ventures into the narrative worlds of TV and film. His aural abilities are not limited to scoring beautiful music to pictures he’s also a master of sound design and typically he will tackle both composition and sound design when he takes on projects.
